Farm Boy!

My mom just emailed me this from a few weeks ago. I had to share!

Please Get Ahead Of the Cat

Adam has developed a fondness for playing with the flashlight. He likes to shine it around. And if you shine it at the wall or the floor, he'll play with the dot of light.

Seriously, kid, it's adorable, but isn't it time you pulled ahead of Oliver?

Well, but wait.

He likes to give his little friends a drink from whatever cup or bottle he's playing with.

And he's fallen for the frog. We named her Laylee, because she smells like eucalyptus, which sounds like ukulele, so Laylee. In this photo, she's upside down, but that's because in all the other photos I have, he's moving too fast to see.

He's started sleeping with the frog; hopefully when he starts going to day care soon, she can be his naptime companion there. Adam has so many stuffed friends--Arf, Elmo, Laylee, Eggplant, Lobster (we are not creative namers; Mike thinks it's presumptuous of us to name his toys)--and he loves to hug them and kiss them. I hope he doesn't get confused when he starts making school friends, and getting frisky with them!

Weekend Tidbits

And you thought I only got those half dozen great photos in Phillie? You doubt me?

I wish I'd had time to switch to video for that one--but they came flying at me!

The adorable and ever-game Theo in front of the Reading Terminal Market.

Adam being a champ during a very, very, very, very, very long drive.

Silly Ol' Snellios

This weekend, we drove to Philadelphia to visit the Snell/Silio family.

We ate delightful baked goods at the Reading Terminal Market. Also, pork sandwiches for breakfast, because we have no shame.

The kids were all very excited to peek in the windows at the animal shelter, where the cats were sunning themselves. What a great idea for advertising!

We visited Elphreth's Alley, which is a teeny little historic street. But I'm making faces in all the photos, so here's Adam in Elphreth's sub-alley.

After dinner, we walked down to the Narberth train station to watch the 7:01 go by. We had a perfect storm--the north- and southbound trains arrived within a minute of each other, and a commuter train swooshed by just as we were about to leave. Three!

Adam had a cinnamon raisin bagel for breakfast, and loved it, which was exciting to me. He's never been able to manage a bagel before on his own.

And here are Mike and Adam in front of a sculpture called Atmosphere and Environment VII at the art museum.

There was a lot of driving, and a lot of kids this weekend, but Adam was very game, and he had a lot of fun playing with Theo and Conrad. We had a lovely visit!

Yard Work

And by work, I mean the terrible strain of hanging around outside. Does he or does he not look like an elderly man on vacation in this hat?

And more "bath" fun. This is all he wants to do anymore.

And Adam can use the slide by himself!

Another Smithy Day

Actually, I'm honestly not sure if these are photos from last Tuesday or last Saturday. I thought Saturday, but what do I know?

Anyway, they were all fun. I'm going to catch up with more photos, so check back soon!

We spent most of today outside, and glory be but it was lovely.

Adam quickly learned to get up on his climber and slide by himself.

Which he enjoyed.

And we played out some more when Mike got home.

We also made a little pool out of a plastic storage bin, which was very popular.
