Influential Bilderberg Group to meet in Versaille this Year -- This is a top secret meeting of "leading and powerful figures in the fields of business and politics." In Jon Ronson's book, "Them: Adventures with Extremists," he infiltrates a Bliderberg meeting along with one of his "extremist" subjects. The event he describes manages to be both bizarre and pedestrian. Lots of lounging around the pool drinking and shmoozing, topped off with a bit of pseudo-mystical spectacle for a closing ceremony.

Those college students who were being sued by the RIAA ended up settling. It's understandable, given the force that the RIAA's deep pockets could bring to bear on them, but it is a shame, in that they seemed to have a decent legal argument to defend themselves with. Jesse Jordan, the RPI student who was sued was interviewed by CNN.

This Week in Science has been recommended as a good science radio show. I can't access the archives while I'm at work, but I'll be checking this out later.
